Water For Acne

When people talk of drinking water for acne they don’t mean that it will perform a miracle treatment on it’s own.

BUT … it will help to make an evident difference in the condition of your skin.

Your body is made up of 70 percent water so it really has its benefits in clearing you acne. Water is involved in nearly every bodily process and that includes taking care of your biggest organ - the skin!

There are a few things you need to consider to ensure you are drinking the right amount of water as well as the right type.

First, how much water for acne and overall health should you drink?

It is commonly reported that you should drink 6-8 glasses a day but it’s more beneficial to drink some water every hour - it doesn’t have to be a glass!

That way your body is kept hydrated throughout the whole day rather than the approach “I’ll drink 6 glasses in the morning and that’s me for the day.”

You should also take your lifestyle into account.  For example, if you exercise a lot then you’ll be losing water through sweat and will need to drink more water to replace the lost fluid.

If you don’t drink much water and find it difficult to start drinking more then build up to it so that eventually it becomes habit.

What Type Of Water?

Drinking tap water is OK if that’s all you can drink or are able to drink. However, tap water can contain chemical residues such as chlorine and fluoride.  Although, they are in small quantities I still feel better using a water filter before I drink my water.

It doesn’t have to be a big fancy expensive water filter, I think any type is better than using nothing.

I also try to avoid drinking out of plastic bottles.  I’ve read articles where it states that chemicals from the plastic bottle can be passed to the water and that allowing the bottle to heat up in the sun can increase the amount of chemicals entering your water.

Other reports state that different plastics are used for there intended purpose so the plastic used for a water bottle is suitable to drink it of.

I still don’t know for sure which is enough for me to avoid plastic bottles. It’s not a hassle to drink out of glass and when I want to carry water in a bottle I use ones like you get in a camping stores or the type you attach to your bike.
