Vitamins For Acne?




Taking vitamins for acne can have a dramatic effect on the condition of your skin.  Most people do not take the recommended daily amounts of the important vitamins for acne that which means the body doesn’t function properly.

If your body isn’t being given the right nutrition then it can’t maintain healthy skin and reduce acne.  There is a list below of vitamins and minerals that have antioxidant properties to flush out toxins out of your body.  Some of those on the list also have antibacterial effects and promote immunity which helps kill bacteria and unclog pores.

Here are the main vitamins you should consider adding to your diet.

Vitamin A – it is recommended that you take up to 10,000 IU (international unit) but no more than 5,000 IU if you are pregnant.  It’s best to consult a doctor if your pregnant to make sure you’re staying safe.

Vitamin B complex helps you maintain healthy skin tone.  These types of vitamins also help to reduce stress which can cause a hormonal imbalance that can lead to acne breakouts.

Here are the main types of vitamin B, Thiamine (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Niacin (Nicotinic Acid, Niacinamide, B3), Pantothenic Acid, Pyridoxine (B6) and Cyanocobalamin (B12).

Vitamin C

Chromium acts to reduce the rate of infection.reducing skin infection rates. To get the right amount you can take a chromium supplement called chromium picolinate or chromium polynicotinate.  The recommended dosage is 150 mcg per day.

Zinc – 25 to 30mg per day.

Vitamin E – 400 IU daily to combat acne.

Please note that increasing the recommended daily intake of vitamins can be dangerous.  Too much can be toxic and the increased intake of vitamins for acne is not directly related to how quickly your acne will clear.  It actually has the opposite effect.
