Honey Acne Treatment - 4 Honey Remedies, Facial Masks and Scrubs.
Treating acne can end up leaving your pockets empty if you jump from one expensive product to the other. If you don’t have lots of disposable cash then this can be a problem.
Thankfully there are many natural treatments, such as honey acne treatments, that you can make from products you probably already have at home. If your skin is sensitive then natural remedies are a good place to start to get rid of acne.
Honey is a humectant … a fancy term meaning it draws and locks in moisture!
Using honey treatments for acne will help the skin stay hydrated which promotes softness, elasticity, suppleness and reduces the development of dry skin.
Research has established that honey has antioxidant properties which helps protect the skin from UV rays and aids skin renewal - another bonus!
Here are 4 honey mixtures you can try in the comfort of your own home.
Honey Treatment 1
This involves 1/2 a cup of warm water and a 1/4 teaspoon of salt. It’s best to use a cotton ball to apply directly to affected area. In order to soften the spot, keep pressure on it for several minutes. Then using a cotton bud, apply the honey on the problem area and leave on the skin for around 10 minutes. After this time, rinse it off and pat your skin dry.
Honey Treatment 2
No mixture to be made here just pure honey. Apply uncooked honey to the face and pat until sticky. Now leave on skin for five minutes. Rinse off with wet face cloth and pat dry.
Honey Treatment 3
Here is a home based scrub containing honey. Mix 1/2 a cup of oats and 3 tablespoons of honey. Remember to gently rub your face, scrubbing too hard may cause skin irritation and make the problem worse. Massage mixture on face for at least 1 minute. Place the rest of the mixture onto the face and leave to dry for five minutes. Gently wash the mixture and pat your face dry.
Honey Treatment 4
Here is a honey facial mask that will benefit your skin overall. This involves whisking 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 egg white, 1 teaspoon glycerin and add some flour to make a paste. When this is made smooth over face, don’t forget throat, and leave on for 10 minutes. Then wash off with warm water and pat dry.
You may be surprised at how effective honey treatments for acne can be. You have nothing to lose by trying one of the recipes, except for your acne! As with all treatments, stick to one at a time and give it enough time to see if will help your acne.
