Acne Congoblata
Acne congoblata ….. sounds strange, what is it?
It’s a rare but severe form of cystic acne which mainly makes its appearance on the face, chest, buttocks and back. Don’t worry, just because it’s prone to these regions doesn’t automatically mean that you’ll have it in all of them at the one time.
The annoying part about acne congoblata is the fact that it is hereditary. The good thing about that is you can blame your parents for giving you lousy genes! It also means they or someone in your family experienced this form of acne and could point you in the direction of an effective remedy. Remember, however, what worked for them might not work for you.
This form of acne is visible as either pustules – small, inflamed, pus-filled lesions on the skin surface – and nodules – enlarged hard bumps under the skin’s surface which if tampered with can cause scarring – or both. It is common for this type of acne to cause a bacterial infection.
It has been reported that acne congoblata occurs in the apocrine gland regions of the body. That is the areas of where there is body hair.
As you can see, acne congoblata is not that much different to other forms of acne ….. the main difference being the hereditary cause. Some people prefer to let nature take it’s course simply because you can’t change your genes. Others opt to try topical or natural remedies.
The main tip is not to squeeze, prod or aggravate your acne, this will only serve to make your condition worse and spread infection.
If you search the blog you can find home remedies and reviews to decide what treatments are right for you.
